Daughters of woman who died on the operating table during cosmetic surgery brought suit against the surgeon and the anesthesiologist. Punitive damages were sought because the doctor was on probation at the time of the patient’s death.
Plaintiff patient alleged Defendant doctor exceeded the scope of Plaintiff’s consent for a medical procedure. Plaintiff contended that he unequivocally informed the doctor not to do an additional procedure, but the doctor ignored Plaintiff’s directive and did it anyway. Plaintiff suffered severe medical complications.
